Supported Progression event

Do you – or does anyone you support – have a physical disability, learning disability or long-term health condition? Are you worried about what the next step might look like for you, your family member or young person?

An event is taking place at Lockhart Campus in Stevenston on Thursday 9 March from 4.30pm to 7.30pm, where you can come along and hear about current opportunities for supported progression in North Ayrshire, including personal development, activities, training, further education, volunteering and employment.

Bump Buddies – Antenatal Sessions

Ayrshire Brest Feeding Network are running free Antenatal Sessions.

An opportunity to chat about breastfeeding, what to expect in those early days, bonding and attachment and thinking about the support you might like when, your baby arrives.

North Ayrshire Sessions will run at Fullarton Connexions, Irvine, 7-8pm on 31st March, 7th April and 14th April.

Go along with your partner, friends or family and meet other pregnant families.

Free Condoms & Ccard Scheme

NHS Ayrshire and Arran have a free condom scheme called Ccard offering anyone from the age of 14, living, working or studying in Ayrshire free condoms with minimum fuss or embarrassment.

Young Person’s Guarantee

The Ayrshire Community Trust [TACT] is pleased to announce their commitment to the Young Person’s Guarantee and join employers across Scotland in creating opportunities for young people.

The Young Person’s Guarantee is a joint commitment to provide opportunities for all 16–24 year-olds in Scotland through jobs, apprenticeships, further and higher education, training programmes and volunteering.

Positive Steps project leader Cheryl Newall said: “We are delighted to announce our commitment to the Young Person’s Guarantee. As an organisation, we believe that investing in young people is an investment in a successful long term future for our company. The Young Person’s Guarantee will make it easier for us to connect with young people.”

Reverse Jobs Fair

A jobs fair with a difference is being held in Stevenston to pair employers up with their future workforce.
The talent showcase – with a twist – will see people who are looking for work servicing the tables as their potential employers walk round and take a look at their CVs and find out about their skills and experience.
These events are usually held the other way round, with employers taking a table and jobseekers turning up to see which jobs are available.
Business owners and employers are invited to attend the Reverse Jobs Fair on Friday, February 24.

A further reminder of a local warm space…
Fullarton Connexions, Irvine, has opened a warm space for all on Wednesday’s and Friday 10am – 2pm and Friday evenings 6 – 9pm.

There will be hot drinks and soups and charging points for devices (this may be limited to 1 hr if busy).
