POST: RELIEF UNIT ASSISTANT (Bank Staff)
SALARY: £8.70 Per Hour (inclusive of annual leave entitlement)
BENEFITS INCLUDE: Staff uniform and membership of Company Health Plan

The successful candidates will support permanent staff within the Unit by providing cover for annual leave, sickness, training etc. and will assist in providing a safe and pleasant environment for residents. You will be a strong team player and committed to providing excellent service delivery and will be flexible regarding your availability for work. Ideally you will have some experience of dealing with vulnerable client groups and will possess a social care background/qualification or will be working towards a recognised qualification, however this is not essential as full training will be given.

We work in partnership with North Ayrshire Council to operate a modern, well-resourced Homeless Persons’ Facility in Irvine, North Ayrshire. Victoria House operates 24 hours a day, all year round and provides temporary accommodation to a broad mixture of client groups ranging from young single male and female residents to families. To assist in the effective delivery of this excellent service the Association is looking to recruit committed people.

POST: ACCOMMODATION ASSISTANT (2 POSTS)
SALARY: £21,952 (Pro Rata)
HOURS: 7 x 10.5 hours – night shifts, within a four weeks rota period

Reporting to the Assistant Manager, the post holder will participate in the day to day operation of the Homeless Persons Facility, during delegated shift periods, in line with the operating standards and policies to support homeless people towards independent living and facilitate their return to the community. You must have awareness of homeless legislation, excellent customer care and interpersonal skills as an essential part of the role is dealing with vulnerable people. Duties of the post will include carrying out Housing Support Plan interviews and completing relevant documentation for all residents within the Unit, then liaising with external agencies to positively progress their agreed plans during their residency with us.

Good awareness of Health & Safety in the workplace and the ability to contribute to working as a team are also essential aspects of the post. General housekeeping duties is part of the role ensuring the environment is always welcoming, safe, clean and tidy.

The successful candidate would ideally have experience in working in a similar environment and possess or be willing to study for a relevant Social Care Qualification for future registration with the Scottish Social Services Council.
