VOLUNTEERING FOR CLASP BOARD OF TRUSTEES

CLASP is recruiting for a number of volunteers to join their Board of Trustees.
CLASP is a long-established charity, working across North Ayrshire to offer support to people aged 50+ through provision of a range of services and activities to reduce isolation and loneliness, and improve health and wellbeing. They offer:
– Local access to advice and information on issues affecting social inclusion.
– Advice to ensure local people and groups gain an increased knowledge of their rights and their capacity to actively address issues affecting the quality of life.
– Assistance in accessing training and educational opportunities to gain transferable skills, enabling individuals to access employment and further educational opportunities
– Support to ensure that local people aged 50+ and groups can access training in essential digital skills to meet their personal needs

CLASP’s Hope Goes Digital goes to Dumfries house.

CLASP’s Hope Goes Digital is organizing a bus trip to Dumfries house.

The trip will involve arriving at Stevenson for pickup at 10:30am on Wednesday the 24th of August and will be travelling back from Dumfries at 3:30pm. The trip is available for anyone over 50 and costs £10. Depending on the number of attendees there might be further pickup points.

Eglinton Country Park

In partnership with The Trinity Active Travel Hub Eglinton Country Park have a selection of equipment to help all our users access the park. We have assisted wheelchairs, double seat tricycles, single seat support tricycles and much more.

We are looking for a group of volunteers who would like to help us film some content for social media and our website so we can launch our new equipment and a booking system so the public can start using it.

Free Wood Giveaway

Local residents are invited to collect a share of wood logs and wood chips from the former Dreghorn Recycling Centre on Wednesday 10 and Thursday 11 August 2022.
Wood supply is limited and it will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. There will be limits to the quantity of wood collected per person.
