Overview
Cunninghame Ramblers are the local group of the Ramblers UK. We are a national charity founded to promote the active enjoyment of walking outdoors.
Service Description
The Group walk every weekend on alternate Saturdays and Sundays and also organises a Tuesday and Wednesday walk each month. Details of our programme appear on our website and are usually published in the Irvine Herald and Irvine Times each week. Centred on Irvine the membership is located throughout North Ayrshire. The usual meeting point for departing on our walks will be at the car park beside Aldi on East Rd. Irvine. Participants are advised to arrive in good time to allow for a prompt departure at 9am. New walkers are welcome to participate in up to four walks prior to being required to take a membership of the Ramblers Association. Membership gives an entitlement to participate in the walking programmes of all the Ramblers Association groups throughout the United Kingdom. Within Ayrshire, there are two groups located around Irvine, and Kilmarnock that organise weekly walks within the South and West of Scotland.

The Ramblers Members meet about three times per year for social events
Accessibility
The Ramblers is open to all but each individual must satisfy themselves that they are fit and well enough to undertake a walk. Some of our programmed walks involve significant height gain and involve strenuous activity over long distances but most of our walks are in the distance range of about six to eight miles. The nominated leader of walk can be consulted about the degree of difficulty likely to be encounterd on their walk. A leader reserves the right to exclude a member who attends lacking basic protective clothing or appropriate footwear or who in the leaders mind is not well enough to undertake the walk. Dogs are not welcome on our walks as we often follow routes which cross farmland containing cattle and livestock.
