Overview
The Sea Cadet Corps is the longest youth organisation in the United Kingdom. It is a displined, uniformed youth organisation with their aims as assisting young people into responsible adulthood. The Sea Cadets are not a pre-military organisation. We are a voluntary registered charity in Scotland and are self funding. All adult s are volunteers are are vetted through the Protection of Vulnerable people. Ardrossan Sea Cadets have been operating in Ardrossan since 1992.
Service Description
The Cadets are open to both female & males from aged between 10 & 12( Juniors) and 12 & 18 as Sea Cadets. We meet at the Unit Headquarters of a Wednesday & Friday evening, 7pm to 9:30pm, 50 weeks a years. Proof of being able to swim is required as we go afloat in boats most of the year.
Costs
£1.00 per evening. Addition costs of £65.50 if travelling on a week long course which covers food and all travel – trains and flights.

Resources and Amenities
The Unit has many instructional rooms, including a dining hall, galley, sleeping accomodation, showers and outside facilities. We have a variety of boats and our own minibus. Uniform is provided free after a six week settling in period.
Accessibility
Most of our facilities are based in Portacabins with no wheel chair access, assistance is always on hand to include everyone to take part in activities.
