Service Description

We enable people to maintain lifestyles that are as similar as possible to those enjoyed at home. We encourage regular interaction with the local community, including contact with friends, family and local groups. We encourage friends and family to be involved through regular visits and participation at special activities, events and open days.

Tyneholm Stables offers a supportive and therapeutic living environment where care is tailored to the needs of each individual. Residents can choose to do a number of activities organised by our activities co-ordinators. Film afternoons and board games are popular with residents, as well as reminiscence activities to encourage residents to remember events from the past.

We often go on outings in our minibus and we work on a one-to-one basis with each resident to find out about the things they would like to do, so people are supported to do the things they enjoy.

People we support can benefit from a visiting chiropodist, GPs and other professionals. We also offer an aromatherapy and reflexology service and a hairdresser visits regularly.

Meal times are an important part of the day. We provide a choice of nutritional home cooked meals from a varied menu and our in-house kitchen staff cater for individual likes and dislikes from a cultural, religious or choice perspective.

Resources and Amenities

At Tyneholm Stables we have a mix of 49 double and single bedrooms, including eleven rooms with an ensuite toilet. We have four comfortable lounges and two dining rooms.

We have a large driveway leading up to the home with fields and trees on either side of the property offering picturesque and private surroundings. The gardens and courtyard give people the opportunity to enjoy nature and relax in the sun during the warmer months.

Tyneholm Stables is located in peaceful wooded grounds in the picturesque village of Pencaitland. Our location allows easy access to Edinburgh city centre 15 miles away and the local shop is within a short walking distance.
