Overview
Allanbank provides personalised nursing care for up to 24 older people. We also provide support for up to 43 adults with mental health problems, behaviours that may challenge and physical and sensory impairment.
Our focus is on restoring and maintaining individual’s health and improving their quality of life. We ensure the needs and individuality of the people we support are considered together within a safe, relaxed and homely atmosphere.
Service Description
We provide a comprehensive assessment process following admission to identify each person’s goals and needs. Following this assessment, we work with the individual, their family and wider support network to create a personalised care programme which focuses on their progression through the care pathway.
Allanbank offers an extensive programme of leisure and recreational activities, specifically tailored to meet individual’s needs and wishes. Social inclusion and personal identity are essential aspects of an individual’s dignity which all of our staff actively respect.
The activities team provides entertainment and a variety of activities including playing bingo and card games, taking part in karaoke, quizzes, watching films, painting and listening to music. We aim to enable people to do the things that they have always enjoyed, as well as trying new things.
Meals are an important part of the day at Allanbank. Our experienced catering staff prepare a varied menu of fresh, home cooked food every day and we cater for individual likes and dislikes from a cultural, religious or choice perspective.
Resources and Amenities
Allanbank comprises of 4 separate areas with 67 beds in total. All of the single rooms have ensuite toilet facilities and views of the garden.
Each individual is encouraged to bring their personal possessions. There are nurse call systems in each room throughout all of the areas at Allanbank.
We have a well-kept courtyard and gardens where individuals can sit and relax in the warmer months. There is a shared dining and TV lounge which looks out onto the garden and on the lower ground floor there is a hairdressing salon and a therapy gym. A small kitchen area can be found in each lounge where the people we support and their visitors are welcome to make tea and coffee.
The home has a mini bus which enables the people we support to take day trips. Allanbank is set in attractive, spacious surroundings and is on a regular bus route.
