Overview
Heads UP Scotland is a support group for patients diagnosed with Head and Neck Cancer and their relatives and carers, providing information and support.
Service Description
Because head and neck cancer is relatively rare, people who have it often feel isolated.
The disease and its treatment, which is often a combination of surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy, can have a major impact on quality of life which in turn adds to the issue of isolation.
Everyone’s aim is to survive whatever challenges face them in life. The aim is to learn to live with head and neck cancer and its after effects. Each member has their own story to tell.
Our members have made the trip from cancer diagnosis, through treatment and are well on the path to leading normal fulfilling lives again.
The group provides a safe environment where those with cancer can share common concerns and strengthen their ability to adjust to life with cancer.
You are not alone on the path to recovery.
