Service Description

Welcome to Ayrshire Coarse Fishing (ACF) a group dedicated to this particular branch of the sport in the beautiful county of Ayrshire.

It is our aim to gather a group of fishermen without the competitive element of match fishing: Who are eager to help each angler get the best from his or her fishing trips. Who enjoy the smallest roach to the big carp and all the fish in-between. Who care about the environment and the wildlife that live in it and who do nothing to endanger the animals with their actions. To observe close seasons and any rules on a water that we are fishing whether we agree with them or not.

Fish care is paramount.

We hold monthly competitions with prizes that are donated by individuals or companies. Social events, but our main activities are fishing as many Ayrshire venues as we can.
We have also set up an Ayrshire record and specimen fish list, the first Scottish county to actually do so. This is mainly to record the fish the Ayrshire waters hold.
We actively try and look after the venues as best as we can in areas such as litter clean-ups which not only spoils an area, but is dangerous to wildlife.

ACF publish all the latest catches from the county and keep their members up to date on what is happening with daily updates to the website. We are also presently building an archive of news, photographs and events related to coarse fishing in the county.

We welcome new members who are dedicated to the sport, the welfare of the fish and care of the environment that they live in. It is hoped that if you have any interest in coarse fishing what-so-ever you become involved in the acticities that we have to offer.

Resources and Amenities

We do not presently have our own water but are searching for a suitable venue

Accessibility

There are not many fishing venues in Ayrshire that are suitable for wheelchairs apart from the two main fisheries.
