Overview

Barrmill & District Community Centre offers people who live in the surrounding area an opportunity to meet and get to know others whilst sharing similar interests. It is a small, friendly and very active centre. The centre acts as a focus for the rural community as well as the village.

Barrmill Park offers two gardens to explore, walks around the district and the historical site known as the Deid Man’s Planting which offers wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. There is also upgraded children’s playground and the gardens have a child centred theme, with wishing wells, fairy trees and much much more!

Opportunities exist for groups to carry out environmental conservation work.


Service Description

Monday:

  • Art Class, 7.30pm-9.30pm
  • Councillor’s surgeries, 6.30pm-7.30pm (1st Monday of each month)

Tuesday:

  • Computer Help Drop In Session, 11:00 – 1:00pm
  • Councillor’s surgeries, 5.30pm – 6.30pm (2nd Tuesday of each month)
  • Bingo, 7.30pm – 9:00pm

Wednesday:

  • Greenhill WRI (3rd wed of Month,Sept-May), 7.30pm-10pm

Thursday:

  • One O’clock Gang (Craft & Chat Club),  1pm-3pm.
  • Councillor’s surgeries, 5.30pm – 6.30pm (4th Thursday of each month)
  • Tai Chi Class, 7:30 – 8:30pm

Friday:

  • Chair exercises, 1:30pm – 2:30pm
  • Family Film Show, 6:30pm (Last Friday each month)

Saturday:

  • – Conservation Group volunteer day (2nd Saturday of the month) – Volunteers meet from 11am-3.30pm, lunch provided.

Sunday:

  • Classic Movie Matinee, 3pm (First Sunday each month)


Costs

Groups cost between £1 and £ 5 per session.


Resources and Amenities

We provide a private Hall let £10 per hour. It has a fitted kitchen and toilets suitable for wheelchair users.


Accessibility

The Community Centre is level, wheelchair friendly and there are parking facilities.
