Service Description

Townend provides a range of specialist needs-led services for adults with learning disabilities, mental health issues, and/or complex support needs including Down Syndrome associated dementia, Autism, Epilepsy, complex physical and social needs and High Vulnerability. Service users are supported by specialist staff who provide specialist medical and therapeutic support.

We treat all our service users as individuals within an environment in which Service Users choice, preferences and participation in decision making are paramount in all aspects of daily living activities.

Duration

Support can be offered for any length of time. Respite care, short breaks, re-ablement, convalescence and longer term care is offered.

Palliative care is also provided.
Crisis care is available.

Resources and Amenities

Townend Care is a beautiful house set in a large garden at Symington Village near Kilmarnock. We aim to provide a comfortable and homely environment. Most of our bedrooms are single and three are double so you can share your room with a friend if you want to. There are two large lounges, a conservatory, craft/activities room, a residents dining kitchen, woodland garden and sensory garden to enjoy. Daily activities are provided within the house and there is a full calendar of social events. Birthdays and annual events are celebrated. Outings and trips are arranged with trained escort staff. Transport is available to take you to appointments.
