Todhill Country Centre provides vocational training opportunities for adults with learning disabilities.
The training is provided at the Centre, which is situated midway between Kilwinning and Stevenston, and can accommodate up to 20 trainees per day. Training is available in Horticulture, Construction, Animal Husbandry, Computing, Woodworking in our new Woodwork workshop, Arts & Crafts and General maintenance. Training is provided by experienced staff who have the appropriate vocational knowledge and experience of working with adults with learning disabilities. Trainees can attend Todhill between 1 and 3 days per week depending on their interests, available places and funding. Each individual chooses the areas of training they are most interested in and their daily programme is worked out accordingly and therefore every day can be different. Training is certificated in the specified areas and it is hoped some trainees will go onto to use their skills in an employment setting or take it further through a local college. Each trainee has an individual support plan which outlines their goals and encourages progress throughout their time at Todhill. Transport is provided to and from the centre with pick up points at Stevenston Cross bus stop and Kilwinning Train Station. The designated pick up time is at 9am and designated drop off time at 4.15pm. This is included in the daily charge. Personal protective equipment is issued to each trainee, this includes safety boots and overalls, or any other protective equipment deemed necessary.
The current cost of Todhill Country Centre’s day service is £32.40 per day
