Service Description

We enable people to maintain lifestyles that are as similar as possible to those enjoyed at home. We encourage regular interaction with the local community, including contact with friends, family and local groups. We encourage friends and family to be involved through regular visits and participation at special activities, events and open days.

Our dedicated activities co-ordinator organises activities that can vary from a game of bingo, a board game to arts and crafts. We encourage residents to pursue any activities or hobbies they had prior to coming to Pitcairn Lodge.

Some activities are designed to encourage mobility and to promote group participation. We also have a minibus to enable residents to go on day trips and other areas of interest.

We have our own in-house hairdressing salon and we’re visited by a hairdresser twice a week. We are visited regularly by a team of professionals who provide occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech therapy and dietetic support. Opticians and dentists also visit often.

Meal times are an important part of the day at Pitcairn Lodge. Our experienced catering team prepares a varied menu of fresh home cooked food every day and we cater for individual likes and dislikes from a cultural, religious or choice perspective.

Duration

Care is provided 24 hours a day,seven days a week for as long as the service is needed.

Resources and Amenities

Pitcairn Lodge has 55 bedrooms and most rooms have ensuite toilet facilities. There are four comfortable lounges, two dining rooms and beautiful landscaped gardens surrounding the property where residents can relax and enjoy the scenery in the warmer months.

Most rooms are fitted with a telephone point so that residents can keep in touch with family and friends. People are encouraged and supported to bring personal belongings and furniture into their rooms to make it feel homely and familiar.

Located in a rural area of Aberdeenshire, Pitcairn Lodge is situated within extensive grounds and landscaped gardens. Being only eight miles from the city of Aberdeen there are good public transport links to the home.
