Service Description

It is provided in your own home and can help you with daily living tasks such as: Getting dressed Maintaining personal hygiene Taking medication Getting out of and into bed These services may be provided by our in-house care at home assistants or through one of our approved partners in the independent sector. Regardless of who provides your care you can expect to receive the same standards of service.

Costs

We, like all other local authorities, operate a charging policy for our services. A confidential financial assessment will be carried out to find out if you will have to be charged for your service. This also includes a benefit check which will ensure that your income is maximised. Your ability to pay will always be taken into account. Services that have no charge include: Re-ablement The first four weeks care at home following discharge from hospital for over 65s Personal care for over 65s, including: personal hygiene, continence management, food and diet, simple treatments, medication management Personal assistance You may be charged for the following services: Shopping Housework You can find out more about charges in our charges for services page.

Duration

There is no age range for access to Care at Home services. Anyone assessed as requiring help with daily living tasks may be eligible. There may be times when you require more intensive support such as recovering from an accident or coming home from hospital. This is provided through our reablement service which is a short term, intensive care at home service. It can help you to improve the quality of your life, by helping you get back the skills and confidence to do the things you used to do.

Accessibility

Bridgegate House is open Monday – Thursday from 09.00 am until 4.45 pm and from 09.00am until 4.30pm on a Friday but the Care at Home Service is available 24 hours a day. The telephones are operational during office hours and Out of Hours calls are dealt with by contacting the Ayrshire Out of Hours Service on 0800 328 7758.
