Overview
Ayrshire and Arran Branch of the Multiple Sclerosis Society is a group of like-minded people who offer support and fellowship to people with MS, their carers, families and all affected by Multiple Sclerosis. All of our members and committee members are volunteers, we have no paid staff.
Service Description
Available to people with MS are a number of groups, support services and social occasions (for more on this, see the “What’s On” page on our website – www.msayrshire.com) plus advice and support for all those with MS, especially those who have been newly diagnosed with the illness. We cater for people of all ages and interests, and our Branch is run by people with direct experience of MS. We offer a range of activities, support, information and advice and also hold fundraising events. Scotland has the highest incidence of Multiple Sclerosis in the world, it is particularly prevalent in Ayrshire. Ayrshire & Arran is the largest branch of the national Multiple Sclerosis Society Scotland, which provides care and support services for 10,000 people with MS, the most common disease of the central nervous system. Our Branch Committee meets on the second Thursday of every month at 7.30pm in the Committee Room, Biggart Hospital, Prestwick. Members are invited to join us and see your Committee at work. Please contact the Branch Secretary, Brian Farmer in advance on 07788 990647 if you wish to attend.
