Overview
Montrose House is a 24 bedded residential care home for older people on the Isle of Arran, providing long term and short term care for residents with a range of needs and abilities.
Service Description
A 24 hour care service offering long term residential care for 22 long stay residents and 2 short stay or respite beds. Care is delivered in line with National Care Standards by a committed and trained team of professional carers who are all registered with SSSC, supported by health care professionals and our group of volunteers, Friends of Montrose House. All on one level, Montrose House provides a safe environment where residents are supported to maintain their independence, lifestyle and contact with the community. The atmosphere at Montrose House is described by residents and their relatives as welcoming, homely, happy and relaxed and we encourage friends and families to be fully involved in life at Montrose House
Resources and Amenities
Montrose House offers 24 single occupation rooms, with wash hand basins, individually decorated and furnished . Facilities include 2 lounges with T.V’s, conservatory, large dining room, hairdressing and quiet room. Situated in large well maintained gardens a short distance from the centre of Brodick, the main town on the Isle of Arran. The hairdresser visits once a week and the library van visits once a fortnight. A program of activities and entertainment is available to residents who wish to participate. North Ayrshire Council is investing in a new care home and resource centre facility located nearby and due for completion September 2014, which will provide a superior standard of accomodation with 30 ensuite bedrooms and replace the existing building.
