Overview
East Ayrshire Council’s Vibrant Communities service delivers a range of inclusive sporting opportunities for children, young people and adults with disabilities. The activities delivered give participants the opportunity to participate in sport and physical activity in a fun, safe and enjoyable environment. Activities such as All Ability: Boccia, All Ability: SOFA, All Ability: Sports, All Ability: CHAMPS and All Ability: Cycles are delivered at various locations and times by our qualified staff.
Service Description
Breakdown of Activities
All Ability: Boccia – Boccia is a precision sport similar to bowls and is now a Paralympic sport. (Venue: St Josephs LC – Kilmarnock)
All Ability: SOFA – The Sporting Opportunites For All (SOFA) club is a dedicated sports club for children and young people with disabilities and is delivered by our qualified coaches. Sports include football, athletics, Curling and many more…(Venue: Cumnock Academy & Shortlees Community Centre)
All Ability: Sports – The All Ability Sports Club offers Young People and Adults with disabilities the opportunity to take part in sports. Football is played on a regular basis and other sports such as Badminton, Basketball and Boccia are also played. (Venues: Patna Games Hall, Catrine Games Hall, Huntre Centre – Kilmarnock)
All Ability: CHAMPS – This club is specifically for children and young people with additional support needs. It offers the opportunity for participants to take part in sport, physical activity and arts and crafts activities in a safe environment. (Venue: Bellfield Community Centre – Kilmarnock)
All Ability: Cycles – All Ability Cycles offers children and adults who have a physical or learning disability or have impaired balance the chance to fully participate in the fun and freedom of cycling. (Venue: Ayrshire Athletics Arena)
