Service Description

Support is provided at home or in the local community on a short term basis. We offer advice and information that is both flexible and responsive to your needs and aim to improve both you and your carer. Our dementia support workers provide rehabilitation services including personal care to help you to remain in your home for as long as possible. They will also support and guide colleagues, carers and families, giving accurate and up to date advice on individual services for people affected by dementia. They will work within your local area with partners from health and the voluntary sector, providing a support network by facilitating education and post-diagnostic support groups.

Resources and Amenities

Based at local offices across North Ayrshire, a team of eight Dementia Support workers offer advice, information and specialist support to people with dementia, their families and carers. Memory cafes across North Ayrshire operate on a drop-in basis and offer a friendly, relaxed and welcoming setting where people with dementia and their carers have the opportunity to access practical information and emotional support.
