Overview
Cornerstone is a leading provider of care for children, young people and adults with disabilities and additional support needs. With a team of experienced and motivated staff, we provide a wide range of services to over 2000 people and their families each year, and we are committed to improving the lives of the people we support.
With more than 30 years’ experience, our services are designed to be flexible to meet the individual needs of the people we support, maximising their independence and supporting them to build relationship and maintain social networks.
We identify outcomes based on four key areas – increased social inclusion, improved health, improved independence and responsibility and improved wellbeing. Our highly trained, professional staff believe in the potential of every person we support and have the expertise and experience to enable the people we support to enjoy a valued life.
We support people of all ages with a variety of needs including learning disabilities, physical disabilities, Autism, Fragile X and Dementia. This support is provided through home care, day opportunities, children’s services, supported living, community support, shared lives, befriending, community justice and short-break fostering. We also run six social firms offering employment and training for the people we support.
Service Description
Our Ayrshire Community Support service provides individualised support to build self-confidence and independence, helping people to get the most from life. We provide personalised, flexible support based on the assessed requirements of each person, taking into account physical, medical, psychological, emotional, spiritual and developmental needs.
You will have the choice of support that works your way and fits with you and your family’s lifestyle. You can choose support that helps you to build self confidence to do things to live independently such as pursuing a hobby, meeting friends, shopping or playing an active part in your local community.
The support we offer can include Personal Care, Social and recreational activities, Support to access education, Finance and budgeting, Housework, Shopping, Preparing meals, Health needs
Our Community Support service can also provide support in times of crisis, for both the people we support and their family, and aims to be both flexible and responsive to current and changing needs.
