Overview
Supported by a network of local volunteers, Contact the Elderly organises monthly Sunday afternoon tea parties for small groups of older people aged 75 and over, who live alone, offering a regular and vital friendship link every month. We organise small groups of volunteer drivers who will take you to a host’s home for tea one Sunday a month, and there you meet the other members of the group for an afternoon of good company, friendship and fun!. The group is warmly welcomed by a different host each month, but the drivers remain the same which means that over the months and years, acquaintances turn into friends and loneliness is replaced by companionship. Our service is free.
We now have two groups on the Isle of Arran, and we’d be happy to hear from you. We are also keen to develop groups across other areas of North Ayrshire in the future.
Service Description
