Service Description

Buckreddan offers each resident an individualised care plan. We promote a key worker system with each resident having a named nurse and a keyworker who are responsible for ensuring person centred care at all times. We take into consideration each persons dietary needs and offer extensive menu choices.

We offer spacious rooms with seated areas nad en-suite facilities. We also have public lounges that can accommodate evening entertainment, church services and private parties for residents and their families.

We have two relaxation rooms, a hairdresser onsite from Monday to Friday, Activities co-ordinators 7 days a week as well as our popular Tournament Bar which opens at weekends.

On admission a new resident may have regular contact from local GP, Dentist, Physiotherapist, Optician, Chiropodist and Dietician.

All staff are working towards A Promoting Excellence In Dementia Care Qualification.

We have a Relatives Forum and are looking to develop a Facebook Forum.

Duration

We provide care over a 24 hour period for as long as each resident requires it.

Resources and Amenities

We have a mini bus which is used to enable our residents to enjoy activities such as: ten pin bowling, lunches out, shopping trips, outings to museums and hot picnics.

We also share activities with our nursery.

 

Accessibility

We are on the main bus route and easily accessible by bus. Both of our units have a keypad controlled entry system.

Eglinton Unit is on the ground floor and on the level,accessible for all who require a wheelchair. Garnock Unit has some 1st floor bedrooms which are accessible by a lift.
