At present we support seven people who have autistic spectrum disorders, Cerebral Palsy, Down’s syndrome, varying degrees of complex needs and mild to moderate mental health issues. We can provide behavioral support.

We support all individuals to become citizens in their own right and to build their independence and relationships within their local community. We ensure the people we support are actively involved in the recruitment process, induction and development of the staff team.

The people who live in Barrington House are very sociable and like nothing better than to have people from other services and their family and friends over for a party. We ensure the people we support have as active a social life as they wish and that they are supported to go on holiday to a place of their choice which is within their individual budget. Comprehensive support guidance, an activity plan/folder and a health folder is devised for each individual.

One of the people we support is a member of Voyage Care’s national forum “Our Voice”. He actively seeks information/questions from people in other Scottish Voyage Care services to take with him when he attends the forum on a quarterly basis.
