Overview
We are committed to delivering a child centred service, and strive to build on our reputation as a best value provider in all aspects of service delivery. Scottish Adoption was established in 1923 with the aim of delivering a holistic range of high quality placement and adoption services.
Service Description
Scottish Adoption has built a strong reputation for: Being skilled in what we do – our team are all professionally qualified staff with specific experience in adoption. Being innovative – we are continually researching and developing new approaches to meet the changing needs of our service users. Looking after people every step of the way – our commitment is to support all our adopted children and families for however long and whenever this is needed. We are a national organisation; however services are predominantly delivered within the Edinburgh & Lothians area through Service Level Agreements with local authorities within the area, along with a range of inter-agency work with organisations in other parts of Scotland. People using our services often comment on the caring and personal service they receive and our last Inspection Report said:- “We found there was a genuine ethos of respect for the views of service users and serious attention was paid to ensuring the agency was responsive and person centred…. from the feedback we had from adoptive parents, social workers and a birth family member, we found the agency had been highly successful in meeting the needs of individual service users”.
