Service Description

We enable people to maintain lifestyles that are as similar as possible to those enjoyed at home. We encourage regular interaction with the local community, including contact with friends, family and local groups. We encourage friends and family to be involved through regular visits and participation at special activities, events and open days.

A wide variety of leisure, social and recreational activities are organised by our activities co-ordinator. The activities offered are very much based on individual choice and interest. The extensive range of leisure activities includes one-to-one hobby sessions, shopping trips, in house entertainment and excursions in our own mini-bus.

Our friendly and experienced team of nurses, carers and domestic staff provide tailored care 24 hours a day and are supported by a very experienced manager who is also a qualified nurse. In addition to providing 24 hour nursing care we also offer respite and short stay care.

Meals times are an important part of the day. Our experienced catering staff prepare a varied menu of fresh home cooked food every day and we cater for individual likes and dislikes from a cultural, religious or choice perspective.

Resources and Amenities

Abercorn comprises of two separate nursing units and can support up to 61 people. Each of the units has their own spacious lounge and dining areas where people can relax, socialise and join in with activities.

Many of our rooms are ensuite and all have a nurse emergency call system. The rooms are bright and people are encouraged to bring their own furniture and possessions to make their surroundings feel more homely and familiar.

The home is situated near the town centre of Hamilton and has a variety of shops, amenities and excellent transport links to the surrounding area nearby.
