Epilepsy Connections Young Adult Support Group

Epilepsy Connection run a Young Adults Support Group from the School Room in Fullarton Connexions. All meetings run from 5:30-7:30pm. The group dates for 2019 are:

Maritime History Tour with Betsy Miller and Rum Tasting

Date of Event:    April 28, 2019

A tour of the Scottish Maritime Museum at Irvine Harbourside, led by the colourful character, Betsy Miller, who was the first registered female sea captain.

A professional tour of a shipbuilder’s flat,set in the early 20th century

A tour of the vessel MV Kyles, docked on Irvine Harbourside.

The opportunity to explore Irvine Harbourside’s coffee shops, pubs, art exhibitions and artists’ studios.

There is an optional Scottish infused Rum tasting event at The Harbour Light Inn for hardy seaworthy visitors; an additional £8 for this.

The tour aboard the MV Kyles is subject to weather permitting. An alternative indoor tour will replace the trip aboard the Kyles should weather prevent boarding. A 10 minute walk along the Harbourside is included as part of the tour and we recommend suitable outdoor clothing as the coastal weather can be unpredictable.

The day will begin at 10.30am and finish at 3pm


The Power of Peers

Date of Event:    May 7, 2019

The Power of Peers is an Ayrshire Networking Event to be held on the 7th May at the Volunteer Rooms in Irvine. The event will be held from 10.30am-3.30pm.

This event will provide an opportunity to discuss a range of different approaches to peer support and peer engagement across Ayrshire.  There will be workshops, discussion groups and opportunities to connect, share and learn from other people.

Ayrshire Young Parkinson’s Group (AYPG) meets in the Volunteer Rooms in Irvine on the first Tuesday of each month at 7pm.

AYPG offers support to all with Parkinson’s in Ayrshire and their family and carers.

The Sensory Impaired Support Group are holding workshops on to better manage your hearing loss.
If you have just received a new hearing aid and wish to receive further help on the practical workings of your aid then please attend one of the following workshops:

Wednesday 10th July, Ayr Education Suite, Room 2, 10am-12pm

Fibro Friends Irvine Support Meeting

FFu-Scotland CIC are a non-profit social enterprise based in Ayrshire providing services and support to people living with Fibromyalgia and care support across Scotland.

Alzheimer Scotland Annual Conference 2019

Date of Event:    June 3, 2019

At this years’s annual conference we will delve into the advances of current dementia research, as well as exploring the innovative support available to provide better care for people living with dementia today.

The conference will offer practical workshops that have been specifically tailored for people living with dementia and carers which will provide take-home advice and ideas, as well as an opportunity to attend one of the new one-to-one clinics to discuss what matters to you.

The conference will be held on the 3rd June at the EICC, The Exchange Edinburgh, 150 Morrison St, Edinburgh, EH3 8EE
